[00:00:00] LinkedIn's organic reach is phenomenal. It's actually pretty easy to get noticed. The algorithm favors meaningful engagement and content right away. And so if you're putting out quality content, it's likely that you're going to be able to get that in front of more people quicker.

[00:00:16] And that's without spending money on ads. I'm talking organic reach. Yes, what up and welcome back to the show. As always, I'm Eric and you're listening to Clip. Clip brings you the tools, resources and people to help you become a better content creator.

[00:00:41] And in this episode, you're going to learn the five reasons why you need to be on LinkedIn as a content creator and how to take advantage of these things to help you get more organic visibility for your face, for your brand, for your company and more.

[00:00:56] Guys, this podcast is sponsored by Riverside. Head on over to riverside.fm. They just dropped a huge announcement. It's called Conversation Studio and with it you're going to get enhanced transcription, sturdier online recording with better syncing, better AI for your transcripts, your show notes, your clips and more.

[00:01:14] That's riverside.fm. Head on over enter promo code CLIPT and get 20% off. Okay. Number one is organic reach. First off, LinkedIn's organic reach is phenomenal. Unlike Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, you kind of have to fight like tooth and nail.

[00:01:31] And it takes a long time for the algorithm to kick in and start to like recognize you and push your content out. Dude, LinkedIn, it's actually pretty easy to get noticed. The algorithm favors meaningful engagement and content right away.

[00:01:45] And so if you're putting out quality content, it's likely that you're going to be able to get that in front of more people quicker. And that's without spending money on ads. I'm talking organic reach and yes, you do need to have a paid ad strategy,

[00:01:59] but the more organic reach you can get across whatever platform, you're going to want to spend more time there because it's cheap. And it's not even cheap. It's free. So using LinkedIn is a great way to build your audience.

[00:02:13] And the way I look at that is take your podcast, your audio, your video, whatever it is, get it transcribed, break it down into chunks and use one of those use a part of the episode to kind of post something about the episode.

[00:02:30] Something that's engaging, something that's thought provoking, something that's educational, educational stuff does great on LinkedIn or post questions based on the content from your podcast or just come up with something off the top where you're talking about your niche,

[00:02:45] how you can help people really. There's a lot of professionals on there. It's great to connect. And like I said, you can get your content in front of people. The variety, the virality factor is pretty solid.

[00:02:58] So check out LinkedIn for your content and take your mainstay, which if you're listening to this is probably your podcast or your YouTube channel and create things from that that you can write about on LinkedIn. Use AI, do whatever you have to do, but get on there.

[00:03:15] Number two is that the barrier to entry is super low. And you know why? It's because we all know how to write. Writing, in my opinion, that's going to come easier to you than like editing video clips for like the other social media platforms.

[00:03:29] It's primarily a tech space platform on LinkedIn. People do post videos and such, but it's largely like written content. And so you don't need like fancy graphics and video clips to start posting.

[00:03:42] You can just quickly share like I mentioned something off the top of your brain to position yourself as someone who has expertise. Or if you don't want to even use that brainpower to come up with something on your own, like I said, take it from your podcast content.

[00:03:56] Scroll through the transcript and be like, oh, I can post about this or I'm going to post about that. I'm going to put it into my own words and boom with written content. You can quickly share your thoughts and expertise with minimal effort guys.

[00:04:09] That's the name of the game minimal effort and organic reach. Those are points one and two on here and if you're consistent, you add value. You connect with people. That algorithm is going to kick in so organic reach, awesome, easy barrier to entry.

[00:04:25] That's number two and number three is that you can become a voice in your field pretty quickly because of points one and two by consistently posting that valuable content. You can quickly establish yourself as someone who knows what the fuck they're talking about.

[00:04:40] And since LinkedIn has a lot of professionals quote unquote, that's the type of content that they're going to be able to do. They're going to resonate with your names going to start to get recognized.

[00:04:50] So it's all about being active and posting and participating in the conversations around your niche and kind of like on the outskirts of your niche. Number four, networking. LinkedIn is a great place to network, especially if you have like a business around your content.

[00:05:09] Because like I said, it's a lot of like quote unquote business people or like employees and they're there for professional reasons. They're there to maybe see what your products and services are or to at least connect with you.

[00:05:20] And, you know, you can maybe nurture those leads in time by posting about your products and services. I think they're just people are more open to like having like genuine connections on there because it's more professional.

[00:05:35] Whereas like the connections across the other platforms, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, it's a little more surface level. It's more about like, I don't know, quickly scrolling, getting like a ton of hits is kind of like the name of the game on that.

[00:05:51] Like going viral for like a specific video or a specific thing, whether it's funny or a stupid dance or whatever, where on LinkedIn people want to see that like thought provoking professional type of content.

[00:06:04] And that's why it's easy to like build relationships on there because I think although it's online and to some extent at surface level, LinkedIn is the place where you can get those more professional, more meaningful connections.

[00:06:17] And you hell, you might run into these people at conferences somehow down the line. You can even invite them onto your podcast after you've nurtured those. So it's also a pretty solid way to find podcasts and guests in my opinion.

[00:06:30] I've actually done that a few times where I've podcasted or wrote something about like a service provider or a product in the podcast space and the CEO and or like a leadership person at those companies have reached out and be like, I saw your article.

[00:06:48] I saw your video and I have had some of those on the podcast. So all that to say networking with professionals. LinkedIn is the place to be in this ties in at number five, which is prospecting. LinkedIn is fantastic for sales and prospecting.

[00:07:04] If you're offering services, you want to be there. You can post offer, share case studies and directly reach out to people and shoot your shot. The fact that LinkedIn is a professional network means your sales messages are more likely to be taken seriously.

[00:07:19] But don't be one of these motherfuckers that like they hit you with like some kind of offer right away or like get tons of stuff about like typically from people overseas or they're like, you know, I'm the best Apple podcast promoter.

[00:07:37] I'll promote your podcast or I'll do videos for your podcast. It's like be genuine when you reach out if you want to like talk about your product or ask them to buy or whatever it is. Date them a little bit first.

[00:07:52] You know, you can't jump into bed right away. You got to warm them up, but it is a powerful place for turning like connections into customers.

[00:08:00] Just don't be one of these fucking people or one of these like people with these AI companies where it's like, you know, I can do XYZ for your podcast and expedite all these tasks that you don't want to do. And it's all automated.

[00:08:14] Hey, let's bring it to you guys, but there's a tons of those companies and they all kind of do the same thing. So sorry, but probably Riverside and Descript are the main ones that people are using. So there you have it guys.

[00:08:29] That's five solid reasons why LinkedIn needs to be a part of your content strategy. Number one, organic reach. Number two, the easy barrier to entry. Number three, becoming a voice in your niche. Number four, networking with professionals and number five sales and prospecting and pros prospecting.

[00:08:49] I said that weird. But in any case, I think LinkedIn just offers like these unique advantages and it's going to help you become more visible and ideally in time grow your business. So that's it guys. Thank you for listening.

[00:09:04] Check out LinkedIn and hit me up if you want to connect Eric Montgomery on LinkedIn or at the podcast Haven on Instagram. Until next time guys, keep listening, keep engaging, keep creating. Keep creating. I'm out.
