[00:00:10] Yo, what up potty people and welcome back to Clipped. As always, I'm Eric your host and Clipped brings you the tips, resources, and people to help crush your online content goals. And as promised, I'm back here with Day 2 reporting live from Podcast Movement. I'm in my hotel room at the Gaylord National Resort in National Harbor, Maryland. Not DC. You guys marketed it as DC.

[00:00:39] We're about 20 minutes, 30 minutes from DC. But in any case, Podcast Movement 2024. I want to give you my Day 2 highlights and recap. Started off a little slow this morning. Woke up, missed the keynotes this morning. First session I made it to, which was a highlight, it was Seth Silver, Kevin Schmidlin, Jeremy Enns, and Courtney. I forget your last name, Courtney, but that was a rad session. That was all about growth.

[00:01:07] And they gave a lot of great tips about optimizing titles for SEO, checking your Apple Podcast consumption. So are people listening to, you know, 30% of your episodes, 90%, 80%. They gave a good example of one guy who didn't know who his audience was. And he finally did a survey. And he realized he was doing a lot of interviews mixed in with a few solo episodes. And he realized that he thought that he should keep doing a lot of episodes. And he realized that he should keep doing a lot of episodes. And he realized that he's doing a lot of episodes. And he realized that he's doing a lot of episodes.

[00:01:42] He did a lot of episodes. So he did a lot of episodes. And he did a lot of episodes. And he did a lot of episodes. But he surveyed his audience and realized that they wanted more solo episodes.

[00:02:07] always be iterating, always be trying new things, working on tweaking those little things to make

[00:02:13] your show grow. But just want to give the shout out to them. If you're looking for like growth,

[00:02:18] check out Kevin Schmidlin from Grow the Show, Seth Silvers, Jeremy Enns, who I highlighted

[00:02:25] yesterday with the Scrappy Podcasting email newsletter. And Courtney, I'm going to tag you

[00:02:31] in the show notes. But that was a great experience that I had. What's cool too is like these

[00:02:36] sessions are kind of in like this massive expo hall. It's loud in there and it's not sound treated,

[00:02:42] it's echoey, but they gave everyone wireless headphones. So like you can actually listen

[00:02:47] to the speakers on stage or the panel that's happening in the headphones. It's kind of like

[00:02:51] I first experienced it years ago at Bonner where they called it the silent disco where there's a

[00:02:55] DJ playing, but there's nothing coming out of the speakers. It's all going into the headphones. So

[00:03:00] similar to that, that was rad. Shout out to Podcast Movement for making that happen because I actually

[00:03:04] heard that last year, the sound from those speakers, there was a lot of echo and it was hard to hear.

[00:03:10] So that's my highlight as far as sessions go.

[00:03:13] This podcast is sponsored by Riverside. [00:03:38] Two other highlights is I got to hang out with the B&H guys. If you're not familiar, B&H is an online store for video equipment, audio equipment, really like one of the best online retailers for that kind of stuff. Cameras, microphones, cables, stands, lights, you name it, they got it.

[00:03:58] And my friend Jay Yao, who I also spoke about yesterday and my other friend Mark, they partnered with B&H to review a new camera that came out from a company called Mevo. Mevo partners with B&H. They sell their cameras through B&H. That's why Mevo was with B&H. And that's why my friends were reviewing the camera because they're friends with B&H.

[00:04:23] And hopefully that wasn't too confusing. But all that to say, they let me sit in. They did a little quick interview with me, asked me a few questions about podcast movement, got to create some cool content there.

[00:04:34] And then they went ahead and reviewed those cameras and talked about how to implement them in your setup. And so I'm going to link to those cameras. I forget the name of the camera off the top of my head for the sake of this.

[00:04:45] But what's right about these cameras is that they can be used wirelessly or they can be connected via USB. But one of them is 1080, the other one is 4K. I'll link to both.

[00:04:55] But what's cool is they're specifically built for creators. They're not like DSLR cameras or typical cameras that you would film with. They're super easy to use, autofocus, very convenient, small.

[00:05:07] They sell them as a kit. So you could get a center shot and two side angles. And then you can actually use the app to change them on the fly with your phone or an iPad.

[00:05:19] Super easy. You just touch it. You don't have to buy the kit. You can just buy one. It can double as a webcam. It can be wired or it can be wireless.

[00:05:27] But it's just like this little square box. And I love that because it's just super easy to use. Plug and play.

[00:05:32] Like if you're not like a film person, a video person, this is a great solution. So I wanted to share this with you in the hopes that maybe you'll check it out.

[00:05:42] Maybe you'll like it. Maybe you'll benefit from it. Maybe you'll buy it. So that's Mevo. And I will link to it.

[00:05:49] Like I said, lastly, there's a company called Audio Sigma. I saw the booth and I wanted to talk to them.

[00:05:55] And the founder's name is Fernando. And he walked me through all the features. Basically, it's an audio interface. There's two different versions.

[00:06:02] There's like a smaller version and there's a two channel version. It's an audio interface. But you've never seen an audio interface look like this.

[00:06:09] It's like it almost looks like robotics or something. It's black and gold. And it just looks fucking cool.

[00:06:15] It's the coolest looking audio interface I've ever seen, to be honest. He did a demo for it. I put on the headphones. I talk into the microphone a little bit.

[00:06:22] But dude, it was just super cool. Like it sounded fantastic. One, the look of it is the other thing that was awesome.

[00:06:29] And the third thing that makes it even like over the top was it has built in noise cancellation.

[00:06:34] It has built in EQ and a built in limiter. And this is all like within the unit. You don't have to like select any of that on the computer.

[00:06:42] It's built into the unit itself. There's a one channel version, a two channel version.

[00:06:46] And it just sounds really crisp and clean. I think it sounds better than some Focusrite stuff.

[00:06:51] I think it definitely sounds better than the Rodecaster. And in the Expo hall, it was super loud and he clicked on the noise cancellation.

[00:06:58] Basically, you click it and then it learns the noise profile. And then it adjusts accordingly if it's super loud.

[00:07:05] Obviously, it'll do more noise cancellation. If it's less loud, it'll do less.

[00:07:09] So that I don't know if that's considered AI or whatever, but the interface is smart enough to have that built in.

[00:07:15] This is a rad product. I think it's a small company. Never seen it before.

[00:07:19] But here's a sample of how it sounds. We recorded him and I just talking and discussing the unit.

[00:07:24] But we talked for maybe 10 minutes, but here's some of that.

[00:07:28] Just because I want you to hear it. I want to share it with you because this might be an audio interface or a product that you're interested in.

[00:07:35] Let's listen.

[00:07:37] Okay, so noise, right? This will work better at your house, obviously, because this is ridiculous.

[00:07:42] But let's learn the noise real quick.

[00:07:46] Hey. Hey. Oh, you have to learn the algorithm. Yeah.

[00:07:53] Now, turn on.

[00:07:55] All right, there we go. There it is.

[00:07:58] Quite a relief, isn't it?

[00:07:59] Yeah, and it sounds... It didn't cut too much of the vocal frequency. A little bit, maybe I could hear.

[00:08:06] But no, it sounds a lot better, man.

[00:08:07] In a different environment.

[00:08:08] Sure. It will never be like this.

[00:08:10] It will be more forgiving and less aggressive, so it will not cut into your voice.

[00:08:14] You know?

[00:08:15] Yeah, yeah.

[00:08:15] Ideally, you don't want to notice this there.

[00:08:17] Sure.

[00:08:18] It's just doing some cleaning from your fridge, HVAC, traffic.

[00:08:21] Little things. Yeah.

[00:08:22] This is crazy.

[00:08:23] This is crazy.

[00:08:23] Yeah, yeah.

[00:08:24] Crazy town here.

[00:08:24] But it's still like we're more comfortable with it on than off, right?

[00:08:27] Yeah, it was easier to focus on because before it was distracting, you know?

[00:08:32] Yeah, right. Exactly.

[00:08:32] So it's like it's there, but it's not competing.

[00:08:34] Boom. There you have it. Audio Sigma. The audio interface that we used is called the PodMobile.

[00:08:43] And yeah, it sounds badass.

[00:08:45] Those are the highlights for me today was checking out that panel this morning on podcast growth.

[00:08:49] I'm all about growth lately and trying to blow my show up and hopefully help you blow your show up.

[00:08:54] So that was a great panel.

[00:08:55] Then getting to hang out with the B&H guys, getting a little FaceTime on some video content

[00:09:02] while watching my friends review the Mevo cameras.

[00:09:05] And then this Audio Sigma demo and getting to meet Fernando.

[00:09:10] Great, great product and had a lot of fun.

[00:09:13] That guy's got a hell of a handshake.

[00:09:14] Dude, he shook my hand so hard.

[00:09:16] But that's it.

[00:09:17] It's currently five o'clock Wednesday, August 21st, end of day two podcast movement.

[00:09:23] Seeing what is going to happen tonight.

[00:09:25] Going to hit up my friends, see what we're getting into.

[00:09:27] I think there's a few smaller like parties.

[00:09:29] Nothing like big like last night.

[00:09:31] Oh, so yeah, last night we went to Topgolf.

[00:09:34] iHeartRadio rented out the whole facility.

[00:09:35] If you've never been to a Topgolf, it's a driving range with like technology built in.

[00:09:40] It's almost kind of like bowling.

[00:09:41] You like put your name in on the screen and you compete against each other and it keeps score.

[00:09:45] And there's certain like targets out on the fairway where you're going for the certain holes.

[00:09:51] But you get points like further away or to the side and they're colored and really cool.

[00:09:56] But iHeartRadio rented that out.

[00:09:58] That was rad.

[00:09:59] Open bar.

[00:10:01] Also went to the Riverside Happy Hour.

[00:10:02] Shout out Steven Robles.

[00:10:04] He is a video creator online.

[00:10:06] He works for Riverside.

[00:10:07] Got to hang out with him.

[00:10:09] And yeah, that was sick.

[00:10:11] Tonight, hopefully a little more chill.

[00:10:13] See what we're going to get into.

[00:10:15] But yeah, reporting back live.

[00:10:17] Day two podcast movement.

[00:10:19] Hopefully these things can benefit you.

[00:10:21] I'm going to link to all this.

[00:10:22] I know I said a lot.

[00:10:23] So check out the show notes.

[00:10:25] Plane Leaves Tomorrow.

[00:10:26] Will not be getting back to you tomorrow.

[00:10:29] But I had a blast.

[00:10:31] Excited to get home to my wife and kids and get back to you next week with regularly scheduled programming.

[00:10:39] Keep listening.

[00:10:40] Keep engaging.

[00:10:41] Keep creating.

[00:10:41] I'm out.
