[00:00:10] What up potty people and welcome back to Clipped. As always, I'm Eric, your host and Clipped brings you the tips, resources and people to help you crush your online content goals. And I've got something special for you guys today. I am actually at Podcast Movement 2024 in National Harbor, Maryland, just outside of DC. And I just want to talk a little bit about so far what I've experienced at the conference, talk about some people I've met, give them a shout out. Hopefully you guys can see that.

[00:00:39] You can go follow them. But yeah, so I'm at the hotel right now in my room. The hotel's the Gaylord Marriott, which is kind of weird, I know, but we're in National Harbor and this hotel is massive guys. Like maybe the biggest hotel I've ever been in, but this area National Harbor is really cool because there's like a street connected to the hotel here and there's a bunch of restaurants and bars. And then this hotel is sitting on the water, the Potomac River.

[00:01:09] And just being from Los Angeles, it's so green here, like the amount of trees. And then you look at like the waterway and across there's trees and bridges, there's water taxis. So that's just to paint a picture of where I am at the hotel right now.

[00:01:25] But the conference. So the conference is going on downstairs. It's Tuesday. This is day one. And we'll just want to report a little bit on it. I'm planning on doing another one tomorrow, Wednesday, and then head home on Thursday.

[00:01:38] But if you didn't know, podcast movement is like the gathering of the masses. There's several thousand people here and there's vendors. There's people speaking on different podcasting growth topics, monetization topics, community.

[00:01:56] Those are like independent people. And then people from like podcasting companies like CEOs and like the leadership team and people talking about their services and what they do and how to improve.

[00:02:08] And everyone's on the convention floor trying to network, which is awesome. This podcast movement, I met the most people that I've ever met so far and feel like I've made genuine connections, which is huge.

[00:02:19] But down there, you know, everyone's got a booth, Libsyn, B&H, Blueberry, Sirius XM is here. The Daily Wire is here.

[00:02:31] All types of production companies. But in any case, yeah, I'm stoked. I'm having a great time so far.

[00:02:37] Shit, I've only been here like eight hours, maybe I got in late last night.

[00:02:41] And just telling you a little bit about what I've experienced. I'm going to report back more. It's kind of the end of day one.

[00:02:47] There's like maybe two and a half hours left of sessions. And then at five, I'm going to a Riverside happy hour.

[00:02:54] It's a happy hour at a bar out here sponsored by Riverside and get a free beer.

[00:02:59] This podcast is sponsored by Riverside. Head on over to Riverside.fm.

[00:03:04] Sign up, take advantage of their AI video clips that they make for your video podcast, AI show notes, AI transcripts.

[00:03:11] And of course, an awesome platform to record remote podcast audio and video interviews.

[00:03:18] That's Riverside.fm. Enter promo code CLIPT at checkout and you'll get 20% off.

[00:03:23] Tonight, the iHeartRadio or iHeartMedia has rented out Topgolf.

[00:03:30] So we're actually going to Topgolf. Everyone from the conference, we're going to golf.

[00:03:34] I think there's an open bar. But in any case, it's badass. And so far, this is the best one I've been to.

[00:03:39] But I just want to give a shout out to some people and really just want to recommend these people to you.

[00:03:46] So I had breakfast with my buddy, Jay Yow.

[00:03:50] J-A-Y-Y-O-W.

[00:03:54] But he produces the James Altucher show. If you want to rad financial podcasts, kind of finances, but talk about life, talk about business, leadership, all types of topics.

[00:04:07] He produces that show. I'm going to link to it.

[00:04:09] And also, Jay is an audio engineer and video production guy.

[00:04:16] And he works freelance as well. So if you're needing help with your podcast, the audio or the video, hit up Jay.

[00:04:22] I'm going to link to his website. I've known him prior to this.

[00:04:25] We're actually in a mastermind every Friday morning that meets on Zoom.

[00:04:29] I've gotten to hang out with him in person a couple of times.

[00:04:31] But check out Jay. Yeah, his work is awesome.

[00:04:34] And check out the James Altucher show.

[00:04:36] And then, dude, I got to meet the Podchaser guys.

[00:04:39] If you didn't know, Podchaser is kind of like the IMDB of podcasting.

[00:04:44] And if you didn't know, IMDB.com, that's a site where everyone that works on film and TV puts their credits.

[00:04:52] So if you're an editor, you list like, I worked on this XYZ Netflix show.

[00:04:58] Or I worked on Game of Thrones as a costume designer.

[00:05:03] Or I mixed the sound for Bluey kids show.

[00:05:10] But whatever, producer, editor, costume, PA, director.

[00:05:16] You list all your credits for all the shows.

[00:05:17] And Podchaser is like that for podcasting.

[00:05:19] So if you're like a freelance producer and you work on three different shows, you can list your credits there.

[00:05:26] If you are the host, you want to make an account and link that show to your name.

[00:05:33] If you are a producer, you can list all the shows that you've got episodes and just one-offs of shows that you've worked on.

[00:05:40] So if you haven't already, check out Podchaser.

[00:05:43] I have a blog post on them, actually.

[00:05:45] They're kind of leading the charge with that and kind of making it like a more professional thing.

[00:05:51] Where if you work in podcasting and you worked on this NPR show, put your credentials.

[00:05:55] And I think that's great just for freelancers, but also to your future employer.

[00:06:00] It's kind of like your resume.

[00:06:01] You can show them that.

[00:06:03] And I think that's rad because it kind of legitimizes the industry.

[00:06:07] So check out Podchaser.

[00:06:09] And actually, check out my article.

[00:06:11] Go to thepodcasthaven.com slash blog.

[00:06:14] I'll link to it.

[00:06:15] It's probably in the last 10 posts that I wrote.

[00:06:18] Good article.

[00:06:19] Good article.

[00:06:20] They shared it across their channels as well.

[00:06:24] All right.

[00:06:24] Then I want to give a huge shout out to Jeremy from Scrappy Podcasts.

[00:06:29] Dude, I've been following this guy's newsletter.

[00:06:31] I subscribed to it a while back.

[00:06:33] And this guy, if you're looking for newsletter growth, if that's your main thing,

[00:06:38] like you want to grow your newsletter and market your show, mostly market your show.

[00:06:41] But he does have the newsletter.

[00:06:43] That's what I talked to him about today.

[00:06:44] I talked to him about growth and some different strategies.

[00:06:47] And currently, my newsletter, I'm trying to work on the messaging.

[00:06:51] And he kind of helped me a little bit with that.

[00:06:54] He gave me a shirt, dude.

[00:06:55] He has badass shirts, which was sick.

[00:06:57] I actually got a Libsyn shirt too.

[00:06:59] A lot of these vendors have shirts at their booths.

[00:07:03] And I need some new shirts.

[00:07:06] And I'm just like straight up asking people, like, what do I got to do to get a shirt?

[00:07:10] If the shirt is cool.

[00:07:11] And if it's like a good brand.

[00:07:13] Okay.

[00:07:14] So it's podcastmarketingacademy.com.

[00:07:17] Scrappy Podcasting is the newsletter.

[00:07:19] A daily two-minute tip to help you punch above your weight by ditching the hype and tactics

[00:07:24] and focusing on what already matters for driving downloads, leads, and sales.

[00:07:29] And so Scrappy Podcasting is the newsletter.

[00:07:33] Podcastmarketingacademy.com is the website.

[00:07:35] And this guy is like a podcast marketing guru.

[00:07:38] He's got tons of free resources on his website.

[00:07:40] He's got some courses for sale, consulting, all kinds of stuff.

[00:07:45] But how I found about him was the newsletter from subscribing to that.

[00:07:48] Yeah.

[00:07:49] Hit him up.

[00:07:50] If you're looking for growth, one, if you want a newsletter that will just give you little

[00:07:53] quick tidbits on tips and growth and resources.

[00:07:56] And then if you want to take a step further to see how you could work with him or purchase

[00:08:01] some of his stuff, highly recommend it.

[00:08:04] This guy's awesome too.

[00:08:05] What a nice guy.

[00:08:06] He's currently living in Spain and Barcelona.

[00:08:08] So how sick to live abroad.

[00:08:11] But wanted to introduce you to him.

[00:08:13] And then the last people that I wanted to introduce to you, these are kind of like my highlights

[00:08:17] of the day, was Tink Media, T-I-N-K Media.

[00:08:21] So they're also a podcast marketing agency.

[00:08:24] And I know about them from their founder.

[00:08:27] I actually subscribe to her email newsletter.

[00:08:31] But they're like a PR company.

[00:08:33] It's female-led.

[00:08:34] The girls that I met were great.

[00:08:37] They all work on the team.

[00:08:41] And I have alarms going off on my phone.

[00:08:43] I just woke up from a nap.

[00:08:44] I was going to...

[00:08:44] The fucking phone rang in here.

[00:08:46] I was asleep for a little bit.

[00:08:48] Then the phone rang.

[00:08:49] I don't know why.

[00:08:50] Hopefully a mistake.

[00:08:51] And it woke me up.

[00:08:52] I slept for like an hour.

[00:08:53] I wanted to sleep for two.

[00:08:54] I'm jet lagged.

[00:08:55] Got kids.

[00:08:56] So I am exhausted.

[00:08:58] But...

[00:08:58] So Tink Media is a podcast growth and ideas company that specializes in podcast PR, creative

[00:09:04] partnerships, in-app placement, and out-of-the-box strategies that will help your show find its

[00:09:09] perfect audience.

[00:09:10] It's not your job to grow the beautiful show you made.

[00:09:14] It's ours.

[00:09:15] And Lauren, that's her name.

[00:09:16] So Lauren Passel.

[00:09:18] Passel or Passel.

[00:09:19] I subscribe to her newsletter.

[00:09:20] She's great.

[00:09:21] It's female-led.

[00:09:23] And I had known about her.

[00:09:24] I've seen her speak and stuff.

[00:09:25] But to meet the team, met three people from the team was awesome.

[00:09:29] So shout out to Tink Media, podcast marketing and growth company, PR.

[00:09:33] So if you're looking for that as well, hit them up and see what they have to offer.

[00:09:38] See how they may be able to help you grow your show.

[00:09:41] But that's it really.

[00:09:42] Just wanted to report back, guys, on what I've learned so far.

[00:09:44] Well, not so much what I've learned, but who I've met.

[00:09:47] Because I've met some rad people.

[00:09:49] And I think that you might find that they're rad too and that they can help you.

[00:09:53] And so I wanted to introduce all these people to you and just report back a little bit.

[00:09:57] I'm going to get some lunch.

[00:09:58] I'm going to go down there, maybe see one or two more sessions.

[00:10:03] And then go to that happy hour.

[00:10:05] Then Topgolf.

[00:10:06] It's going to be a busy day.

[00:10:07] Tomorrow, I'm going to report back late afternoon, probably, on some highlights from day two.

[00:10:13] What I've learned.

[00:10:14] Some cool moments.

[00:10:16] Podcast Movement 2024 reporting back.

[00:10:19] This is Eric.

[00:10:20] You're listening to Click.

[00:10:22] Keep listening.

[00:10:23] Keep engaging.

[00:10:24] Keep creating.

[00:10:24] I'm out.
