[00:00:10] What up potty people and welcome back to the show. I'm Eric, your host and you're listening to Clipped. Clipped brings you the tips, resources and people to help you crush your content goals. We're back baby 2025. Hope everyone had a great break. God, it's grueling when the kids are on break for so long. It's like you got a couple weeks in their home and that's great. You can spend time with them but you got to figure out stuff to do. So if you're a parent and you feel that you're going to be able to do a little bit more, you're going to be able to do a little bit more.

[00:00:39] If you're going to be able to do a little bit more, you've got to be stoked to be back. The rest of us, the rest of you, not the rest of us, but the rest of you, bummer, you're back at work. But hopefully you're listening to this because I've got a bunch of rad shit lined up for 2025. One of which is I really want you to get involved in the YouTube channel, youtube.com slash at the podcast haven. These episodes also go up as video. So check that out.

[00:01:09] You're more into watching me in my studio. You can see my mug up there on YouTube. But the reason that I'm bringing that up is because the direction I'm going to be taking with this podcast and not for every episode, but I'm going to be doing more like vlog style stuff.

[00:01:28] And that's actually what you're going to be doing. And that's actually what you're going to hear in this episode where we're talking about how to repurpose one piece of content into like multiple compelling pieces of content where I take the podcast and the video.

[00:01:42] I break that up for shorts. I use the transcript for blogging and I'm going to get more into it, but it's the podcast at the center of it all and additional pieces of content that spin out from that.

[00:01:54] But what's cool is I actually did like a video blog on this where I kind of drove around a little and I talked in my backyard and I don't know.

[00:02:03] I think it's just more compelling and it's more fun for me to mix it up. And so I'm going to start doing more episodes like that where maybe I'm moving around or I'm in a different location.

[00:02:13] And so that's why I want you to get involved with the YouTube because you're going to see that I'm working on my storytelling and kind of painting a visual picture.

[00:02:21] And the goal is to teach something while doing like an activity or just cruising around or throwing in some philosophical rants and introducing you to my family.

[00:02:31] So I'm trying to have more fun with it, but also give you the same type of content that you're used to.

[00:02:39] So yeah, stoked for that. Stoked for 2025. Really trying to blow up the YouTube channel.

[00:02:44] That's youtube.com slash at the podcast haven. If you're liking this content, loving this new content, give that a subscriber.

[00:02:52] And so this video is, I pulled the audio from it, but this is all about repurposing content.

[00:02:59] And you're going to hear like the audio pulled from the video. So it's not going to sound like this in my studio.

[00:03:04] It's going to sound like, you know, I'm outside, I'm in the car.

[00:03:08] So it's clean, but you're going to hear just kind of like a day in a life while learning.

[00:03:13] So love that. Hope you do too. And also guys, if you're new, if you're thinking about starting a podcast,

[00:03:20] if you're listening to this and you don't even have a podcast and you want to get involved,

[00:03:24] one of the hardest parts is naming your show because all the good names are taken.

[00:03:27] Not really, but a lot of them are. And so I built a tool on my website.

[00:03:31] Go to thepodcasthaven.com on the homepage right there.

[00:03:35] First thing you'll see is my podcast name checker.

[00:03:38] I built a tool where you can type in the name of the show that you want,

[00:03:41] and it'll tell you if a show with that name already exists.

[00:03:45] It's going to search Apple, Spotify, and YouTube for you to tell you if that name is available or if it's taken.

[00:03:53] It's also going to pull up the URL so you can see if like the URL for the name you want is available.

[00:04:00] The goal is to add TikTok and Instagram, if I can, several other channels so that you can type in one name for your show that you want,

[00:04:10] and you can see if it's taken across all the listening platforms, all the social platforms, and the URL.

[00:04:16] That way, you can come up with something that's available across all those.

[00:04:20] Because in a perfect world, you get your name for the socials you want, the audio you want, the video you want, the website you want.

[00:04:29] In a perfect world, you get all those for the name that you come up with.

[00:04:33] Thepodcastthaven.com homepage, podcast name checker.

[00:04:37] I'm going to shut up now. Let's get into it.

[00:04:39] How to repurpose one piece of content into several compelling pieces so you can hit everybody where they're at.

[00:04:46] Let's give it a go.

[00:04:54] So it all starts with a podcast.

[00:04:57] And this is what I recommend you do.

[00:05:00] Because unfortunately, we live in a world where you can't just be a business owner anymore.

[00:05:05] You kind of have to be a content creator too.

[00:05:09] And it's a little bit...

[00:05:12] Let's see.

[00:05:13] You have to be a content creator too.

[00:05:15] Hey, hey, hey.

[00:05:16] Check, check.

[00:05:20] Hey, hey.

[00:05:23] So this is what I do.

[00:05:25] And this is a great way to extend the life of your content across several different mediums.

[00:05:32] And unfortunately, we're in a world now where you can't just be a business owner.

[00:05:36] It's like you have to be a content creator too.

[00:05:40] It's kind of annoying, to be honest.

[00:05:44] But it's a great way to maximize your reach.

[00:05:47] So it all starts with a podcast.

[00:05:49] And the podcast, I record video.

[00:05:52] It's an audio and video podcast.

[00:05:54] And this is a great system.

[00:05:57] I recommend you do this.

[00:05:58] It does take some legwork.

[00:06:00] But I'll share some tools and some AI and stuff that I use to help speed it along and just make it easier.

[00:06:08] So it's an audio video podcast.

[00:06:11] So right away, the audio goes up on Apple and Spotify.

[00:06:16] I don't change much from what I recorded for the video.

[00:06:21] That goes up on YouTube.

[00:06:24] Of course, that's edited.

[00:06:26] The audio is the same file as the video.

[00:06:30] I just pulled the audio from the video.

[00:06:32] But I do record a separate intro for both.

[00:06:36] So the audio intro of the show is different.

[00:06:39] And the video intro of the show is different.

[00:06:41] But it's the same.

[00:06:42] Like the meat of the content is the same.

[00:06:45] So right there, you've got your bases covered.

[00:06:47] You've got people who like to listen to audio, audio podcasts.

[00:06:52] And then there's people who like to watch video podcasts.

[00:06:55] So that's covered there.

[00:07:02] Also, I'm in my backyard, which we landscape.

[00:07:04] So I hope you dig that.

[00:07:06] But then what I do is I take that.

[00:07:11] A little bit sick too.

[00:07:14] But I take that audio file and I throw it into two different programs.

[00:07:21] One, Descript.

[00:07:23] That's Descript.com.

[00:07:24] We'll put an affiliate link in the description here.

[00:07:27] And also into Riverside FM.

[00:07:31] I'm also a Riverside affiliate.

[00:07:33] So I'll throw that in the bio.

[00:07:34] Both are great tools.

[00:07:36] They automatically transcribe your podcast with AI.

[00:07:42] And I'll take that transcription.

[00:07:44] And I'll tell you why I do it with both.

[00:07:45] So I take the transcription from Descript.

[00:07:48] I copy paste that into ChatGPT.

[00:07:51] And I tell ChatGPT to give me episode summaries.

[00:07:56] AKA the show notes for the audio version of the show.

[00:08:01] And then I'll have it do a different description for the YouTube description.

[00:08:07] These are largely the same except the language that you use on YouTube and kind of the structuring is different from the language and the audio.

[00:08:17] Or sorry, the language and like the vibe that I use for Apple and Spotify's description.

[00:08:25] So I'll prompt ChatGPT twice to do that.

[00:08:28] And that's where I'll get my show notes for the audio and my YouTube description for the YouTube description.

[00:08:34] There's an airplane flying overhead.

[00:08:35] It's crazy because the Van Nuys Airport is pretty close.

[00:08:39] So these planes are coming and landing.

[00:08:41] They don't take off this way.

[00:08:43] But they come in from behind me.

[00:08:45] Van Nuys is a few miles in the middle of the San Fernando Valley.

[00:08:48] And they land there.

[00:08:51] So this plane is on its descent.

[00:08:52] Probably in like a couple more minutes it's going to land.

[00:08:56] That's why you're hearing that.

[00:08:58] So that covers audio and video with both descriptions.

[00:09:03] And then I'll also take that transcript and I'll tell ChatGPT to create a blog post.

[00:09:08] And I don't just say, hey, create a blog post and hit submit and it spits it out.

[00:09:13] I prompt it in a lot of different ways.

[00:09:15] I tell it to use my language.

[00:09:16] I tell it to cover XYZ talking points as the main blog post.

[00:09:22] I tell it to give me headings, H2 and H3 headings.

[00:09:27] I tell it to optimize for SEO around a certain keyword.

[00:09:32] And then there's going to be multiple iterations of that.

[00:09:35] So the first thing it gives me back is not the one I'm going to use.

[00:09:39] I have to tweak it several times and change some things.

[00:09:42] And I give it detailed instructions essentially.

[00:09:44] So then what I do with that is I take that and then that's the blog post that goes up on the website.

[00:09:51] Depending on how complex or easy or what kind of like podcast episode it was, I will then even like edit it even further and tweak it.

[00:10:04] And sometimes there's a lot of rewriting.

[00:10:06] Sometimes there's little rewriting.

[00:10:08] Oh, there's another plane.

[00:10:29] Anyway, so that covers the website, the blog.

[00:10:31] Like I said, the blog, I'm big on written content for SEO and blogging.

[00:10:36] I'm just a big fan of it.

[00:10:37] I've been doing it for several years.

[00:10:38] I'm ranking the top five for several keywords and then the top 10, top 20 for a lot of other keywords.

[00:10:48] They say blogging is like kind of dead.

[00:10:50] Now everyone goes to social media and or YouTube to figure out what they need to figure out.

[00:10:54] But there is going to be a percentage of people online that always want to read.

[00:10:59] And Google does index videos.

[00:11:02] You know, you type a search query into Google.

[00:11:05] YouTube videos come up because Google owns YouTube.

[00:11:09] And then also written content, different blogs from different websites also come up.

[00:11:14] And that's part of the key of this whole repurposing is then I've got like the YouTube covered and the written covered.

[00:11:21] So then I'm meeting my audience where they are, whether that's they want to read or whether they want to watch or whether they want to listen.

[00:11:31] So all those bases are covered.

[00:11:33] That's like the three main pillars.

[00:11:35] And then let's talk about social media.

[00:11:39] So the reason I also upload the transcript to Riverside or sorry, the video to Riverside and get that transcribed within Riverside is because then with Riverside's AI, it's called Magic Clips.

[00:11:53] I can go in, hit, you know, create magic clips and Riverside's AI will pull several clips depending on how long the file is of the highlights of the episode.

[00:12:04] And so then you've got your vertical clips for social media that you can put on YouTube and TikTok.

[00:12:11] I don't go on TikTok, probably should, but nonetheless, they're vertical.

[00:12:16] You can also create Square for LinkedIn, which let me just mention real quick.

[00:12:23] Like I also prompt ChatGPT from that transcript to draft a LinkedIn post for me about that specific episode.

[00:12:30] And since, God damn, there's a lot of planes right now.

[00:12:34] They all like come in on a similar timeline, I guess.

[00:12:47] Yeah, so I take that transcript for LinkedIn to also get a LinkedIn post.

[00:12:51] And the podcast is at the center of it all.

[00:12:55] Depending on what you podcast about, this is a great strategy.

[00:13:01] Getting back to social media clips for Riverside, they've got like this AI editor and you can change the color of the captions, the style of the captions.

[00:13:11] You could even edit the video further.

[00:13:13] I often find that Riverside, what they first give me with their AI gets me about 70% of the way there.

[00:13:21] And then I'll go in and edit the clip a little bit and maybe shorten it or extend it.

[00:13:27] I should probably be cranking out, you know, dozens of these per episode.

[00:13:31] Or, you know, I usually try to do at least two, sometimes three per episode.

[00:13:38] But yeah, Riverside's AI is a huge help with that.

[00:13:40] It's going to save you a lot of time.

[00:13:42] It saves me a lot of time.

[00:13:43] The reason I do it is because, man, what's up?

[00:13:48] Yeah, I heard that.

[00:13:50] What's up with that?

[00:13:52] Our toddler slept in the car for like 20 minutes.

[00:13:54] Now she's awake in the house.

[00:13:56] That was my wife telling me that she's awake.

[00:14:01] But anyway, Riverside's AI helps you crush that.

[00:14:04] You do have to do some legwork, but you're going to get a good amount the way there.

[00:14:09] The sun is moving behind our tree.

[00:14:14] There's my doggy.

[00:14:18] So the lighting's changing, but that doesn't matter.

[00:14:20] So all in all, that gives you the audio, the video for YouTube, the audio description and the YouTube description, the blog post for social media, a LinkedIn post, and all the social media clips.

[00:14:35] That way you've got several pieces of content around one main idea.

[00:14:41] And if you're kind of like a solo podcaster like me and you do it for thought leadership and expertise, you then have all these bases covered.

[00:14:49] So it's something that I recommend.

[00:14:51] And if you have questions, happy to chat more.

[00:14:55] But that's why being a YouTuber or a podcaster is great because it gives you that main piece of content for your ecosystem that all these other pieces of content can sprout out from without having to additionally come up with ideas to create all this other content.

[00:15:15] That transcript has everything in there that you need to do so.

[00:15:20] And so that's a huge strategy that I recommend for those of you trying to grow a brand, trying to grow a channel, a business.

[00:15:28] And if it seems overwhelming, there's a pit bull next door.

[00:15:33] He likes to bark at her.

[00:15:35] That's my dog's Iggy and that's Bella.

[00:15:40] Yeah, it's just a way to do without it getting overwhelming.

[00:15:43] And if you can't do it for all of these outlets, if that just sounds overwhelming, even though there's these AI tools to help focus on like at least one additional besides the core.

[00:15:58] The core content messaging.

[00:16:02] This is just a great way.

[00:16:04] And everybody, all the big heavy hitters do this.

[00:16:06] It's a great way to just replicate and reproduce that content for multiple channels.

[00:16:12] But you have to have one key message or one key thing you're teaching or explaining in that initial phase, which is the video and podcast recording.

[00:16:24] Then you amplify that out.

[00:16:26] Highly recommend you do this.

[00:16:29] If you didn't know about it, now you know.

[00:16:32] And that's it guys.

[00:16:33] I'm out for today.
